Seven Spells is een unieke sound bath die gebruikmaakt van live muziek en theater, ademhalingsoefeningen, zang, meditatie, beweging, en zelfs lachtherapie om deelnemers samen te brengen. Onder begeleiding van altviool, cello, zang en percussie, creëer je niet alleen op een creatieve manier verbinding met jezelf, maar ook met anderen. Deelnemers kunnen kiezen voor actieve deelname – waar je meedoet met de groepsactiviteiten zoals dans en zang – of voor passieve deelname, waar je lekker kunt luisteren en ontspannen. Seven Spells is een Engelstalige ervaring, maar door het gebruik van eenvoudig taalgebruik en de sterke auditieve en visuele elementen is de sessie toegankelijk voor iedereen!

Creatief echtpaar Kellen McDaniel en Berber Heerema ontmoetten elkaar tijdens hun studie aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag. Met jarenlange ervaring in (hedendaagse) klassieke muziek en interdisciplinair theater, combineren ze nu hun talenten als makers en performers in Seven Spells. Geïnspireerd door de ervaring die ze hebben opgedaan in de wellness community in Los Angeles, hebben ze een toegankelijke, interactieve sound bath gemaakt die de zintuigen laat stimuleren!

This spring Stichting De Mix debuts Seven Spells – an immersive sound bath and community building workshop at Het Zeeheldentheater.

A traditional sound bath is a live music performance that creates a relaxing space through surround sound and guided meditation.
Seven Spells builds on this tradition with the inclusion of visual and theatrical elements as well as community bonding exercises to bring people closer together in a shared experience.

There will be alternating passive and active moments throughout the sound bath for participants. In between musical and storytelling performances, we will guide you through singing, dancing and a
range of other activities.

Seven Spells is designed to help you relieve stress and connect with likeminded people. Together we
will create an open environment to heal and grow. We provide a safe space for all, including queer individuals, people of color, and those with different abilities; we welcome you as you are.

Join artists Kellen McDaniel and Berber Heerema as they bring their sound bath from California to The Hague. Enter a stunning visual world of light and projection while enjoying mystical stories and musical performances of cello, viola, voice and various percussion instruments.

Seven Spells lasts 60 minutes. Afterwards we will invite you to mingle and chat in the foyer to build
on the bonds created during the session.

Seven Spells is an English language experience. Despite the name, a sound bath is water-free, you won’t need to bring a swimsuit. Just wear something comfortable you can move freely in.
